Test Mechanic
Job Description
- Organizes and maintains lab equipment, tools and supplies.
- Organizes and maintains inventory of wiring harness components to be used for prototype manufacturing and repairs.
- Modify existing wiring harnesses to implement changes as directed by the wiring engineer.
- Build prototype wiring harnesses or cables according to design provided by the wiring harness engineer.
- Check wiring harnesses for implementation of temporary changes by supplier.
- Supports in troubleshooting wiring problem.
- Authors problem reports for wiring harness defects identified in the wiring lab.
Qualifications
- Experience with wiring harness manufacturing and repair tools.
- Experience with lab inventory control methods.
- Experience with automotive or commercial electrical troubleshooting.
- Commercial vehicle or automotive wiring harness manufacturing or repair experience.
- In depth knowledge of automotive connector suppliers and connector families.
- 5+years' experience with wiring design, manufacturing and/or repair.
- Associate Engineering degree or related professional trade education.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
