  • Education Qualification: Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Years of Experience: 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in automotive plastic trim design (preferably door trims).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong expertise in CATIA V5, Teamcenter & Vismockup is a plus.
    • Knowledge of plastic materials and injection moulding processes.
    • Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and drawing standards.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of assigned tasks.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Excellent team collaboration across global and cross-functional environments.
    • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and quality. 

 Job Description

  • Conversant with Vehicle Architecture, Vehicle Aggregate Groups, Sub-Groups, Systems and Sub-Systems.
  • Expertise in Interior Trims Design and Development – Headliner, Soft Trim - Interior - Exterior Hard Trim/Soft Trim.
  • Ability to ground-up design of all trims (Plastics) components through detailed design and delivery into production.
  • Functional expertise in design and development of interior trims aggregates and to take technical decisions with Design & Release Engineers and suppliers as required.
  • Independently create CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA V5.
  • Responsible for CAD models and associated drawings of components and assemblies in adherence with FORD procedures and standards.
  • Ensure all designs meet packaging, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), and design rule requirements.
  • Establish manufacturing, assembly and service feasibility.
  • Optimize concepts and designs.
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional team to resolve technical issues.
  • Engage in regular communication with global teams for design alignment and status reporting.
  • Conversant with New Product Introduction process, its milestones and delivery success criteria for engineering.
  • Monitor timelines and deliverables to ensure program targets (cost, weight, quality, timing) are met.
