- Education Qualification: Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
- Years of Experience: 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in automotive plastic trim design (preferably door trims).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in CATIA V5, Teamcenter & Vismockup is a plus.
- Knowledge of plastic materials and injection moulding processes.
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and drawing standards.

Job Description | - Conversant with Vehicle Architecture, Vehicle Aggregate Groups, Sub-Groups, Systems and Sub-Systems.
- Expertise in Interior Trims Design and Development – Headliner, Soft Trim - Interior - Exterior Hard Trim/Soft Trim.
- Ability to ground-up design of all trims (Plastics) components through detailed design and delivery into production.
- Functional expertise in design and development of interior trims aggregates and to take technical decisions with Design & Release Engineers and suppliers as required.
- Independently create CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA V5.
- Responsible for CAD models and associated drawings of components and assemblies in adherence with FORD procedures and standards.
- Ensure all designs meet packaging, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), and design rule requirements.
- Establish manufacturing, assembly and service feasibility.
- Optimize concepts and designs.
- Collaborate closely with cross functional team to resolve technical issues.
- Engage in regular communication with global teams for design alignment and status reporting.
- Conversant with New Product Introduction process, its milestones and delivery success criteria for engineering.
- Monitor timelines and deliverables to ensure program targets (cost, weight, quality, timing) are met.
