Role Summary
The Systems Engineer is an entry-level engineering position supporting the development, integration, and validation of automotive 12V electrical systems and components.
In this role, you will work closely with experienced system, component, and validation engineers to set up, coordinate, perform, monitor, and document both vehicle-level and laboratory validation testing. Key responsibilities include preparing engineering work orders, supporting the development of validation test plans and procedures, collecting and analyzing empirical test data, and assisting with the root-cause investigation and resolution of vehicle electrical system issues.
This position covers components and subsystems within the low-voltage power domain, including:
12V lead-acid batteries (Flooded and AGM technologies)
Alternators and intelligent charging systems
DC/AC power inverters
Battery Monitoring Sensors (BMS) and smart sensing devices
Power control relays and related power switching hardware
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Systems Integration & Laboratory Validation
Validation Setup & Testing: Set up, execute, and monitor laboratory bench tests and vehicle-level validation procedures for 12V power components and systems.
Documentation & Work Orders: Prepare engineering work orders (EWOs), author test reports, and document detailed validation results against technical performance specifications.
Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, process, and analyze electrical measurement data (voltage, current, thermal, network signal logs) to verify functional compliance.
Root-Cause Analysis & Issue Resolution
Troubleshooting: Assist lead engineers with identifying, logging, and resolving electrical system anomalies, parasitic draws, and communication errors during vehicle testing.
Requirements & Test Plan Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously refine test procedures, acceptance criteria, and environmental test profiles.
