Mission
This position requires eligibility for a TN visa (i.e., Canadian citizenship) because it is located in Auburn Hills, MI.
We are seeking a Junior Automotive Designer to support the design and development of automotive components and systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Engineering graduate with automotive co-op/internship experience and hands-on exposure to CAD and mechanical design through academic projects or previous experience.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and development of automotive components from concept through production.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings.
- Assist with design reviews, engineering changes, and documentation.
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and vehicle integration activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams.
- Assist in identifying and resolving design and vehicle-related issues.
- Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and BOMs.
- Apply GD&T, engineering standards, and design best practices.
Profil
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Recent graduate or 0–2 years of engineering/design experience.
- Previous automotive co-op, internship, or student work experience strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with CAD/design, gained through professional, co-op, or university projects.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD software such as CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of mechanical design, GD&T, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented automotive environment.

Preferred:
- Automotive design or vehicle development project experience.
- Experience with CATIA V5, Siemens NX, or Teamcenter.
- Exposure to automotive OEM or Tier 1 engineering environments.
- Familiarity with engineering change management and product development processes.
