About the Role
SEGULA Technologies South Africa is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to
support a multidisciplinary engineering project in Gauteng.
The successful candidate will contribute to system definition, requirements management,
system integration, verification and validation, while coordinating technical interfaces
across multiple engineering disciplines.
The position requires a strong systems-engineering mindset and the ability to translate
requirements into coherent technical solutions while maintaining system-level consistency
throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
● Support the definition, development and integration of complex engineering systems.
● Analyse, define and manage system and subsystem requirements.
● Maintain traceability between customer requirements, system requirements and
engineering solutions.
● Support system architecture and functional analysis activities.
● Define and manage technical interfaces between systems and subsystems.
● Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, electrical and other engineering disciplines.
● Support the integration of system components and ensure technical compatibility.
● Participate in system verification, validation and testing activities.
● Analyse system performance and identify technical issues and improvement
opportunities.
● Develop and maintain system engineering documentation.
● Support configuration and engineering change activities.
● Participate in technical reviews, system reviews and project meetings.
● Ensure compliance with system requirements, applicable standards and customer
specifications.
● Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Perfil
Mandatory Requirements
● Bachelor s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
● Approximately 2–5 years of experience in Systems Engineering or system
development.
● Good understanding of Systems Engineering principles and methodologies.
● Experience with system requirements and requirements management.
● Experience with system integration, verification and validation.
● Ability to understand and manage complex technical interfaces.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple engineering
disciplines.
● Ability to work effectively under project and schedule constraints.
Advantageous Experience
● Experience within the railway or transportation sector.
● Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
● Familiarity with SysML and/or UML and associated systems engineering tools.
These competencies are specifically identified in the SEGULA role profile.
● INCOSE/CSEP or other Systems Engineering certification would be advantageous.
● Experience working on multidisciplinary products combining mechanical, electrical
and other technical subsystems.
Contract & Availability
This is a fixed-term project assignment for an initial period of approximately 6–8
months, based in Gauteng.
Candidates should be available immediately or at short notice.
