Machinist

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to work on-site at our client's aerospace manufacturing facility in Wichita, Kansas. The successful candidate will perform precision machining operations, prepare machine setups, and produce components that meet engineering specifications, dimensional requirements, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify material type, quantity, and completion of required prior inspections.
• Review engineering drawings, work orders, and shop documentation before beginning work.
• Assist with machining process planning and machine and part setup.
• Set up and verify cutting tools according to machine requirements.
• Perform machining operations, including boring, drilling, milling, tapping, and threading.
• Monitor machine feeds, spindle speeds, and tool wear, making adjustments as needed.
• Finish machined parts using appropriate hand tools.
• Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Maintain applicable engineering documents, blueprints, and shop aids.

• Approximately three years of diversified machine shop experience, or equivalent technical training or coursework in machining or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Ability to calculate dimensions for machining operations.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Ability to use simple or compound sine tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and precision.
