Role Overview
As a Mid-Level UXE / CFO Requirements Engineer, you will drive the definition, authoring, governance, and lifecycle management of customer-level requirements supporting current and future vehicle programs. Functioning as the translation layer between user experience intent and vehicle systems implementation, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product Planning, Systems Engineering, Software, Hardware, HMI, and Validation—to deliver clear, testable, and traceable feature specifications that meet corporate milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Authoring & Governance: Lead the creation, review, baselining, approval, and lifecycle tracking of system- and feature-level requirements using ALM tools (e.g., IBM DOORS Next Gen).
Feature Decomposition: Translate high-level customer needs, competitive benchmarking, and voice-of-customer (VoC) feedback into platform-level functional, non-functional, and acceptance criteria.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Facilitate requirements reviews across global software, hardware, and engineering teams to resolve architecture conflicts, dependencies, and interface gaps.
Traceability & Change Management: Maintain bidirectional traceability from customer needs down to software, hardware, and validation test cases. Evaluate and manage requirement change requests for technical, cost, and timing impacts.
Verification & Compliance Partnering: Collaborate with validation engineers to define test methods and confirm requirement coverage, ensuring adherence to functional safety (ISO 26262), cybersecurity, and regulatory standards.
Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent ABET-accredited degree).
Experience: 1–5 years of automotive product development experience with direct responsibility in requirements definition, authoring, and lifecycle management.
Technical Communication: Proven capability to draft precise technical specifications and translate complex systems engineering concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Systems Engineering Knowledge: Functional understanding of vehicle networks, software/hardware interaction, functional decomposition, and systems architectures.
Standards Awareness: Working knowledge of ISO 26262 safety-related requirements, INCOSE-aligned engineering practices, and applicable industry regulations.
Perfil
Key Competencies
Requirements Engineering & Management: Proficiency in eliciting, authoring, decomposing, and baselining precise, unambiguous technical requirements using systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, DOORS Next Gen).
Systems & Holistic Thinking: Ability to visualize end-to-end user features across complex automotive architectures, network topologies, and interconnected software/hardware domains.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Negotiation: Capability to drive alignment, resolve conflicts, and negotiate functional trade-offs across multidisciplinary and global engineering teams.
Analytical Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking to perform root-cause analysis, evaluate requirement gaps, and assess the impact of engineering change requests across cost, timing, and compliance.
Technical Communication: Skill in translating complex systems concepts into clear engineering specs and communicating technical status effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Quality & Compliance Focus: Deep commitment to compliance, incorporating ISO 26262 functional safety, regulatory standards, and rigorous acceptance criteria into feature specifications.
