Overview
The Interlocking Application Design Engineer, reporting to the IXL/ETCS Team Leader, is responsible for the design, development, testing, and integration of IXL/ETCS software modules in compliance with project requirements, internal processes, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the specification and architecture of IXL/ETCS subsystems in collaboration with system architects.
- Follow the defined design and development toolchain.
- Develop and maintain IXL/ETCS software modules.
- Prepare and perform module-level tests and verification activities for assigned deliverables before formal Validation & Verification activities.
- Manage design deliverables according to Configuration Management requirements.
- Support hardware/software integration activities together with hardware engineers.
- Promote design standardization by reusing and implementing efficient, reusable solutions.
- Collaborate closely with architects, hardware designers, and V&V teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Provide effort estimations for assigned tasks and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, standards, and project requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned activities, and process optimization.
Perfil
Qualifications & Experience
· University Degree level in Electronics /Automation/Transportation/Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics or an Engineering Faculty.
· Experience in Engineering, Transport Engineering or other safety critical industrial fields represents and advantage.
· English Language: Medium/Advanced Level.
· Knowledge of another international circulation language represents an advantage (French, Italian, Spanish).
· Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, AutoCAD 2D.
· Knowledge of the programming language represents an advantage.
