We are looking to hire a Commissioning Engineer specializing in electromechanical/mechatronic systems for finishing lines in the steel and metals industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys working on complex industrial plants and managing on-site activities through to final delivery.

  • India

Frequent travel, including extended international assignments, is required.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing the commissioning of finishing lines for bars and tubes (both ferrous and non-ferrous), including equipment such as:

  • 2-roll straightening machines
  • Multi-roll straightening machines
  • Inspection and conditioning lines
  • Peeling machines
  • Combined coil-to-bar drawing lines
  • Drawing benches
  • Chamfering machines
  • Shears
  • Abrasive and circular cutting machines

In particular, the role involves:

  • Acting as Electromechanical / Mechatronic Supervisor from installation through commissioning, final testing, and operator training
  • Coordinating and technically supporting the automation team during start-up activities
  • Managing technical and operational issues, working closely with Project Management and Headquarters Engineering Teams
  • Interfacing directly with the client and commissioning representatives to ensure all activities meet contractual technical specifications
  • Leading on-site activities to ensure successful plant start-up and performance validation

Perfil

Qualifications Technical diploma as: Electrical / Electronic Technician, or Mechanical / Aeronautical Technician Experience
  • Proven experience as an Electromechanical or Mechatronic Commissioning Engineer in finishing lines for bars or tubes within the steel industry
  • Solid understanding of the relevant manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Candidates with similar technical and managerial experience in other industrial sectors will also be considered
Skills & Competencies Strong ability to read and interpret:
  • Mechanical drawings
  • Electrical schematics
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to guide commissioning teams toward project goals
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration mindset
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • High degree of flexibility and willingness to travel, including long-term international assignments
  • Good command of the English language

Final compensation will be determined based on skills and experience, with a range of €39,000 to €43,000 gross per year.
