My philosophy
If I had to choose one quote to define my approach to everyday life, I’d probably choose: ‘Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable. Be honest and transparent all the same’ Mother Teresa.
I believe it’s essential to communicate openly, always with respect, in order to build an environment of trust and good humour and thus limit the build-up of tension.

My role at SEGULA
I’m an Activity Manager at SEGULA, responsible for a team of over 25 people at the La Motte-Servolex branch. I’m also an environmental consultant and the main point of contact for our client EDF-hydraulique for activities in the fields of mechanics, command and control, civil engineering, IT and the environment. My role is to continue to develop our activities while maintaining team cohesion between the different professions within my remit.
-
My training
I obtained a DUT in Biological Engineering, with a major in Environmental Engineering, at the IUT in Thionville-Yutz. I then went on to engineering school, where I obtained a degree in Environmental Engineering (ENSIL – Limoges), specialising in the management and production of drinking water.

My professional experience
SEGULA is my first professional experience, and I’ve been with the company for almost 9 years now. I started out on a CDIC to strengthen the environmental modelling business by simulating the impact of global warming on lakes and rivers. Thanks to my motivation and versatility, I quickly signed a permanent contract. My career at SEGULA has been rich and varied: environmental simulation, drafting regulatory dossiers, national GIS projects, and support for R&D on issues related to global warming.
Today, I’m putting this experience to good use as SEGULA Activity Manager for three framework contracts with EDF Hydraulique. I directly manage SEGULA staff on assignment for EDF, manage subcontractors and support our sales engineering teams in responding to certain tenders.

My best SEGULA project
The project I’m thinking of concerned the impact of climate change on the management of water resources in the Lac de Serre-Ponçon. It was one of my first projects where I had to simulate the future development of an area up to 2050, based on the climate trajectories of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). This study was particularly interesting because it required me to take into account not only meteorological changes, but also the pressure on water resources on an area-wide scale due to irrigation, tourism, drinking water and energy.

My hobbies
I love sport, especially watching it from the comfort of my sofa with a soda in hand. Apart from that, I’m an active badminton and table tennis player, which keeps me fit and justifies all those hours spent watching TV.
-
My greatest dream
I’d like to see a world where work-life balance is valued, allowing everyone to enjoy their passions and loved ones to the full. A global vision of work with more flexible and fulfilling working environments as a standard.

What skills or qualities do you consider essential for success in your field?
I consider human skills to be essential. A good manager needs to showempathy, have excellent communication skills and be able toinspire and motivate his or her team. It’s also crucial to prioritise the success and well-being of employees to create a positive and productive working environment.
