Vision Automation Engineer
Job Description
- Develop vision and measure system for industry, ensuring accuracy, precision, and reliability.
- Share and challenge technical specifications with internal partners.
- Study and know measure & vision market (OEM, suppliers, brevets…).
- Analyze measurement data to ensure compliance with product specifications.
- Create technical specifications for supplier and technical offer for partner.
- Pilot feasibility studies (possible solutions, costs, timeline, risks).
- Co-defines, with purchase team, realization of equipment under his responsibility (participate to the choice of the supplier and guaranty the follow-up)
- Define experimentation plans to evaluate performance of the measurement or control process development following requirements.
- Make/participate/subcontract integration studies and follow and guarantee any evolution. Pilot realization of the chosen solution.
- Follows evolution requests following the process.
- Participate to installation and startup of equipment by collaborate with other metier in charge of integration. Many projects include implementation schedules during holidays and shutdowns. Travel expectations are typically up to 30% of time over the course of a year, however the travel requirement is often not evenly distributed throughout the year. Depending on project assignments, travel percentage can exceed 30% at times up to 50%.
- Realize evaluation of the performance of the measure or control process
- Provide the Measurement Process Dossier and guarantee the regulatory conformity.
- Ensure commitments in term of Performance, Timeline, Cost and Quality
- Ensure the Technical support to plants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent technical education and experience
- 3 years of hands-on experience in Industrial Vision, Image processing, Physical measurements, Informatic Development(C++, C#, LabView).
- Strong knowledge of industrial vision technologies, including lighting, camera, laser sensor selection, and image processing algorithms.
- Knowledge of data acquisition, signal processing, and control systems.
- Specific experience with Cognex, Keyence, Bytewise, Gocator is required.
- Willing to travel 30-50% domestic and some international (within USA, Mexico and Canada)
- Experienced with PLC programming standards & programming software, including GRAFCET, Ladder Logic, and Structured Text. Specific experience with Rockwell and Siemens is a plus.
- Experienced with HMI configuration, programming and communication. Specific experience with Rockwell is a plus.
- Experienced with controls systems network interfaces and various protocols for communications between devices including computer system databases.
- Industrial Vision System configuration and interface for width measurement applications and defect detection applications is preferred.
- Robotic experience, configuration or knowledge is preferred. Specific experience with Fanuc, and Yaskawa is a plus.
