Signaling and Communication Supervisor
Job Description
As a Signaling and Communication Supervisor, you will lead a team of technicians and oversee all activities related to the maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of signaling and communication assets across the railway infrastructure. Your role is essential in ensuring operational continuity, safety, and performance of systems such as:
CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control)
CCTV, PA Systems, Passenger Information Displays (PIDS), Intercoms (IAC)
SCADA networks, telephony, access control
Signaling equipment and server room infrastructure
You will coordinate and supervise field operations, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards within a 24/7 service environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Supervise and coordinate a team of signaling and communication technicians across multiple shifts
Ensure all maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with the company's HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) standards
Oversee the execution and quality of work orders and ensure timely reporting in the maintenance management system
Plan, assign, and monitor fieldwork activities, including technical modifications and upgrades
Lead incident investigations and provide guidance during system failures, emergencies, and recovery operations
Review technical documentation, interpret schematics, and ensure alignment with as-built configurations
Liaise with subcontractors, engineering teams, and external vendors as needed
Support training, mentoring, and performance evaluation of team members
Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to long-term asset management strategies
Qualifications
You are a proactive leader with strong technical acumen and field experience in complex systems. You know how to get the best out of your team while maintaining a focus on safety, precision, and operational excellence.
Diploma or degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in signaling and communication systems maintenance (rail industry experience is an asset)
Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a technical/field service environment
Deep understanding of CBTC, CCTV, PA, SCADA, network systems, and related infrastructure
Strong knowledge of EHS practices and a proven track record in applying them on the field
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in maintenance management software and IT systems
Valid Class G driver's license (additional licenses are considered a plus)
