PMC - Mechanical Supervisor - Construction Supervisor Stations-Basra, IRAQ

Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced PMC Mechanical Supervisor - Construction Supervisor Stations to oversee mechanical construction activities related to stations for a high-profile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The Mechanical Supervisor will ensure all mechanical works, including equipment installation, piping systems, and related activities, comply with project specifications, timelines, and safety standards. This role demands strong technical expertise in mechanical systems, leadership skills, and experience in managing large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all mechanical construction activities for stations, ensuring alignment with project specifications and schedules.
  • Monitor the installation of mechanical equipment, piping systems, and structural components, ensuring compliance with quality standards and design requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify progress and resolve any construction issues.
  • Work closely with contractors and subcontractors to address technical challenges and ensure efficient execution of mechanical works.
  • Review mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, and test packages to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Oversee mechanical testing, commissioning, and handover activities for installed systems and equipment.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and installation of mechanical materials and equipment.
  • Promote adherence to HSE policies and safety standards across all mechanical construction activities.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, including updates on mechanical works, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor and guide team members to enhance performance and technical knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8-12 years of experience in mechanical construction supervision, with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline projects.
    • Proven experience in a PMC environment and station construction is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical construction processes, equipment installation, and relevant codes (e.g., ASME, API).
    • Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills for effective team and stakeholder coordination.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
