Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Impact assessment of KB obsolescence on vehicle design
  • Review and manage KB obsolescence list (Breakdown Number of items against CRs)
  • Manage supplier design documentation for each item in the obsolescence list 
  • Identify and confirm level of changes for each item in the list
  • Identify parent assemblies and drawings impacted by new parts that will require change
  • Assign CR for each functional area for the change (underframe piping and brackets, cab piping, sanding raft, Air supply unit …). 
  • Update existing CRs with scope and effort and raise new CRs if required
  • Perform Design review for each CR
  • Support supplier discussion and manage supplier OIL
  • Attend regular meetings arranged by supply management and take and raise actions in OIL
  • CDRL need to be setup by procurement
  • Raise new issues with supplier (missing supplier deliverables, quality – non conformant)
  • Manage KB deliverables SQA
  • Support SQA for FAI (first article inspection) and prototype testing
  • Manage design documentation from supplier (register and release in PDM)
  • Support update and release of testing procedures relevant for braking system from potential impact of obsolesence 
  • Review of drawing, Specification, Test procedure, Test Report by supplier and Alstom.
