We’re looking for a skilled professional to support a site‑wide LEV compliance and improvement project covering design, installation, commissioning, and validation of LEV systems.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a major engineering and manufacturing site, ensuring full compliance with COSHH Regulation 9, HSG258, and internal standards.

🔧 What You’ll Do

As our LEV Project Engineer, you will:

  • Lead or support the design, specification, and modification of LEV systems across manufacturing and workshop environments.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal engineering teams on installation plans, commissioning activity, and system upgrades.
  • Conduct LEV commissioning, performance testing, and verification in line with BOHS and HSE guidance.
  • Produce high‑quality technical documentation including design calculations, reports, airflow measurements, and performance data.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet COSHH and HSG258 requirements, contributing to Thorough Examination & Testing (TExT) readiness.
  • Identify compliance gaps, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support training and awareness sessions on correct LEV use and operation.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, H&S, Facilities, and Environmental teams.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in LEV design, installation oversight, commissioning, and performance assessment.
  • Strong understanding of COSHH, HSG258, airflow principles, ducting design, fan selection, and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Hands‑on experience with airflow measurement tools (pitot tubes, anemometers, manometers, smoke generators, etc.).
  • Demonstrable experience producing technical and compliance documentation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate contractors and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

⭐ Desirable Qualifications

Ideally, you will hold or be working towards relevant BOHS LEV qualifications, such as:

  • P600 – Methods for Testing LEV Systems
  • P601 – Thorough Examination and Testing
  • P602 – Basic Design Principles
  • P603 – Advanced Design Principles
  • P604 – Performance Evaluation & Commissioning

(Equivalent LEV engineering certifications also considered.)
