PMC - Hydrotest Supervisor (Construction)-Basra, IRAQ

Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced PMC Hydrotest Supervisor (Construction) to manage and oversee hydrotesting activities for a prestigious Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The Hydrotest Supervisor will ensure that all hydrotesting procedures are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, international standards, and safety protocols. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in hydrotesting operations for large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all hydrotesting activities for pipelines, tanks, and associated facilities to ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards.
  • Develop and review hydrotesting procedures, test packages, and documentation in coordination with engineering teams.
  • Monitor and verify the setup, execution, and completion of hydrotests, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Coordinate with construction teams, contractors, and third-party inspectors to plan and execute hydrotesting activities.
  • Perform inspections and provide technical guidance during hydrotesting to resolve challenges and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of test water in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports on hydrotesting activities, including test results, issues encountered, and corrective actions taken.
  • Ensure that hydrotesting equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operated safely.
  • Promote adherence to HSE standards and ensure that all hydrotesting activities are carried out in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Train and mentor site personnel to enhance their understanding of hydrotesting procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8-12 years of experience in hydrotesting operations, with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline construction projects.
    • Proven experience supervising hydrotesting teams in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of hydrotesting procedures, pressure testing techniques, and international standards (e.g., ASME, API).
    • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, and test documentation.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Strong communication and leadership abilities for team and stakeholder coordination.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in challenging environments.
