Material Planner

Job Description

We are looking for a Material Planner to join our team and support a major client operating in the railroad industry. The resource will contribute to the team by providing support in managing the supplier portfolio to ensure the proper delivery of goods by helping to promote an action plan for performance improvement and in risk management and working with the purchasing team to ensure that contractual agreements are reflected in the ERP system, performing the following activities:

  • Manage express delivery needs to Suppliers using the dedicated tools
  • Internal suppliers: Manage Purchase Requisition until Material Planning documents creation
  • External suppliers: Follow up with Procurement the Purchase Requisition level maturity for launching Material Planning documents
  • Ensure and update the accuracy of material planning master data
  • Communicate the Material Planning documents to Suppliers and follow Suppliers confirmation
  • Organize and maintain regular reviews with Suppliers in order to check the status of deliveries and their delivery performances
  • Follow up deliveries, maintain delivery dates in ERP and ensure the availability of goods for projects
  • Track missing parts until stock availability and ensure non-conformities replacement through NCR process
  • Analyze, monitor and share performance-related KPI’s with different stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Participate/lead Supplier's performances improvement
  • Contribute with SC inputs for supplier selection and, when involved, to Supplier Capacity Assessment
  • Contribute to the project SC objectives and targets by ensuring material planning and ERP settings are in line with these objectives
  • Contribute to new business risk assessments and mitigation action plan

Hiring will be on a 1-year fixed-term contract

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in management engineering or equivalent
  • Languages: Fluent in Italian and English
  • 6 months of experience in the role in supplier delivery performance management, materials requirement planning, inventory management and industrial scheduling
  • Knowledge of  ERPs, Supply Chain concepts, processes continuous improvement and data analytics
  • Knowledge of the SAP tool
  • Good time-management skills
  • Predisposition to work in cross-functional teams/projects
