Material Flow Specialist

Job Description

  • Conduct baseline analysis to capture the material flow "Before" condition at program start and update PFEP for current/surrogate programs.
  • Identify and analyze kitted and sequence parts, focusing on complexity and part count increases, and assign JIS parts to P&P commodities.
  • Manage inbound delivery methods, gate and dock/trailer analyses to ensure efficient material flow and storage utilization.
  • Develop and oversee storage and delivery methods, including internal and external storage analyses and material flow from dock to use point.
  • Record major program changes, conduct material flow scenario studies, and compile final material flow lessons into a document for stakeholders.
  • Monitor data on commodity, flow, storage, dock/trailer, and PFEP, including changes in container, transportation, and supplier data.
  • Design storage layouts and sequence cells, addressing space, ergonomic, and equipment needs.
  • Manage change in containers, material flow, and Plan of Record (POR), and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for various logistical and production aspects.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a flow planner with proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D) and MS Office (Excel and Access).
  • Knowledge of ODCICS2, ergonomics, and material flow management.
  • Professionalism with adaptability to dynamic and chaotic launch environments, ensuring clear communication and acceptance of changes during production.
  • Organizational skills, experience in team-based environments, and excellent oral presentation capabilities.
