Inspection Engineering BSI Lead

Job Description

We're looking for an Inspection Engineering BSI Lead for our Team operating in Oil&Gas field.

The candidate should have at least 5+ years experience in Baseline Inspection Engineering Management. 

The Baseline Inspection (BSI) is an inspection program performed before the start-up to provide baseline data for future inspections and to confirm that the equipment/structure/system is free from construction defects and compliant with the design.

Job focuses on development of procedure and drawings to perform baseline inspection thickness survey. Procedure is to define techniques and area for NDT inspection for pressurized static equipment and piping item. The target of baseline inspection

The Condition Monitoring Location (CML) methodology will be based to as follows:

  • nature and form of the potential defects/metal losses/corrosion/erosion,
  • accessibility of area to inspect,
  • limitation of the NDT method.

 

The BSI Lead will be regularly in contact with the Inspection/corrosion specialist to properly deep dive the baseline inspection study input and area of concerns.

  • On-Stream Inspection (OSI) implementation plan,
  • CML assignment criteria, 
  • Written Scheme of Examination (WSE),
  • equipment GA drawings marked-up with CMLs,
  • piping ISO drawings marked-up with CMLs.

 

  1. Typical work activities

Starting from Corrosion Loop Diagrams (CLDs), equipment and piping item risk profile coming from Risk Based Inspection (RBI) analysis, it is required to perform as follows:

  • gathering related design data from technical disciplines to build-up a comprehensive database for equipment and piping,
  • baseline inspection circuit definition,
  • CMLs assignment criteria definition, number vs location,
  • CMLs placement review @3D model for accessibility checking,
  • supporting the Lead Inspection Engineer in reviewing the project technical documentation in respect to the contractual requirements,
  • preparation of required documentation to attend meetings with Company, project team or vendors.

Qualifications

Technical skills

  • Expert of NDT inspection methods for pressurized static equipment and piping. 
  • Knowledge of different materials of construction for plant items. Advanced knowledge of inspection requirements to be achieved by pressurized static equipment and piping design code (e.g. API 510, API 570, ASME BPV VIII, etc.).
  • Fully aware of oil & gas plant related design documentation and drawings, which may include: 3D model, plot plan, P&IDs, PFDs, Line list, GA drawings, mechanical data sheets, vendor manuals, procedures, etc.
  • Expert of MS Office package. Ability to work with 3D software application, i.e., Naviswork Freedom and PDF editor, i.e., Power PDF Advanced.
  • Possesses interpersonal and communication skills.
