Automotive - Packaging Engineer (Development & Industrialization Phase)

Job Description

We are seeking an Automotive Packaging Engineer to join our team during the critical development and industrialization phase of a new vehicle launch for a leading automotive manufacturer. The role involves supporting the design, testing, and implementation of packaging solutions that ensure safe and efficient transportation of vehicle parts. This position is open to both junior professionals looking to grow their careers and experienced experts seeking to apply their skills to a high-profile automotive project. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

- Project Support & Coordination: 

  - Assist in the coordination of packaging development activities, working with internal teams and the client's project team to meet key milestones. 

  - Support the management of project timelines and deliverables to ensure packaging solutions are ready for the vehicle launch. 

  - Participate in meetings with project stakeholders, providing updates on packaging development and identifying any potential issues. 

- Packaging Design & Development: 

  - Collaborate with teams across engineering, logistics, and quality departments to develop effective packaging solutions that meet technical and logistical requirements. 

  - Contribute to the design and testing of prototype packaging, helping ensure solutions are suitable for transportation, storage, and handling. 

  - For more experienced candidates: Lead the creation of advanced, cost-efficient, and sustainable packaging designs aligned with the manufacturer’s goals. 

 

- Industrialization & Implementation: 

  - Assist in preparing packaging solutions for the industrialization phase, ensuring they are compatible with manufacturing processes and supply chain systems. 

  - Coordinate with suppliers to ensure packaging materials are delivered on time and meet quality standards. 

  - For senior candidates: Oversee the entire industrialization process and troubleshoot issues during pre-production and initial production stages. 

- Cross-functional Communication: 

  - Act as a key point of contact between the internal team and the client’s packaging and logistics departments. 

  - Facilitate communication with suppliers, manufacturers, and transport teams to ensure packaging meets all necessary specifications. 

  - Support project meetings by providing insights, discussing progress, and proposing solutions to any packaging challenges. 

- Quality & Continuous Improvement: 

  - Ensure that all packaging designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. 

  - Help identify opportunities for improvement in packaging solutions, whether it’s reducing costs, enhancing performance, or improving sustainability. 

  - For experienced candidates: Lead initiatives to implement advanced, innovative packaging solutions that drive continuous improvement. 

Qualifications

- For Junior Candidates: 

  - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 

  - Familiarity with packaging processes, materials, and logistics is an advantage. 

  - Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment. 

  - Enthusiasm for learning and growing in the field of packaging coordination 

- Good level of English, and Slovenian language.

 

- For Experienced Candidates: 

  - 3-5+ years of experience in packaging coordination or a related field, ideally in the automotive or manufacturing industries. 

  - Expertise in packaging design, materials, and industrial processes. 

  - Proven ability to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and lead cross-functional teams. 

  - Strong problem-solving skills and experience with sustainability in packaging is a plus 

- Good level of English, and Slovenian language.
