PMC - DCC Lead (Document Control Coordinator - Construction)-Basra,IRAQ

Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced PMC DCC Lead (Document Control Coordinator - Construction)to oversee document control processes for a prestigious Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The DCC Lead will ensure that all project documentation is properly managed, distributed, and archived in compliance with project requirements, international standards, and company policies. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of project records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the document control team in managing all aspects of document control, including receipt, distribution, and archiving of project documentation.
  • Establish and maintain efficient document control systems to ensure timely and accurate tracking of project deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with project-specific document control procedures, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure all document submissions meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Oversee the use and management of electronic document management systems (EDMS) such as Aconex or equivalent platforms.
  • Ensure proper version control of project documents and drawings, maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Support audits and reviews by providing accurate documentation and maintaining traceability of records.
  • Train and mentor document control staff, promoting adherence to best practices and ensuring consistent application of procedures.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards on document control activities, including document status, pending approvals, and compliance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8-12 years of experience in document control, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the Oil & Gas or construction industry.
    • Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in electronic document management systems (e.g., Aconex, EDMS).
    • Strong understanding of document control processes, version control, and quality assurance principles.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Strong communication and leadership abilities for managing teams and collaborating with stakeholders.
    • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in managing documentation.
