Avionics Technician

Job Description

Short term Contract 

Per diem:
$315 weekly per diem for candidates who live +150 miles away

  • Adhere to General Work Requirements
  • Perform inspection, make adjustment and repair, replace components, and correct any malfunction or deficiency with and without power applied to the aircraft
  • Perform maintenance on customer aircraft in accordance with applicable technical data and FAA/JAA regulations
  • Access and re-install aircraft components, which obstruct the performance of assigned tasks
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical removals and installations
  • Document work performed per Inspections Procedures Manual (IPM)
  • Work on aircraft as well as in shops
  • Perform other tasks, for example, cleaning aircraft using approved materials, methods, and equipment, load and secure ballast and/or freight as required
  • Coordinate with technical representatives, lab, and other personnel in resolving systems or component problems
  • Fabricate parts/wire harness and install per engineering specifications
  • Assist with repairs on components detached from the aircraft, for example, flaps, ailerons, elevators, rudders, doors, and leading edges
  • Assist with complex repairs at on-site and off-site locations
  • Assist with engine removal and installation
  • Assist in development of installations for engineering
  • Assist with fueling/defueling aircraft as required

Qualifications

  • Typically 3 years of avionics work experience or substantiated equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting on individual or aircraft status.
  • Own a basic set of hand tools and can demonstrate proper tool inventory and control.
  • Must obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) qualifications as required.
  • Must be able to work unscheduled overtime, including non-scheduled workdays and holidays.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in seasonal or inclement weather.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge, if applicable.
  • A Certification required if mandated by the customer (Commercial Aircraft); A Certification, P Certification, or A&P Certificate also acceptable.
  • Hold a GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certificate.
  • Experience working on corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft.
  • Basic PC skills.
