Quality Assurance Tester
Job Description
This role will initially be be 5 days per week on site during a training period, you would then revert to a hybrid working system. The role is a standard 37.5 hour 5 day working week.
A QA / Product Assurance position within the Tewkesbury test team to achieve the qualification of in-house Software Products and related third-party integrations as ‘fit for purpose’.
Product testing is typically related to physical access control, transaction management, command/control, digital video and intrusion detection; requiring software/hardware integration testing to achieve new product delivery.
The role is predominantly manual software application testing but will also encompass aspects of Web / Mobile App and Hardware / Firmware test.
Product Engineer - Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that products meet design specifications and perform as required.
- Identify and clearly record defects on a central database.
- Create, maintain and follow test cases based on product specifications.
- Record ‘Test Runs’ to provide evidence of product maturity and test coverage.
- Create or Maintain release notes / documentation in relation to the products being tested.
- Suggest and record product enhancements which could be incorporated into future releases.
- Identify new opportunities to improve test quality and coverage.
- To identify future automated testing opportunities.
- To participate, as required, in the company's continuous improvement initiatives.
- Hands on with physical devices for fully integrated system testing
- Setting up of test environments using Windows Server / VM technologies / Web back-end technologies
- Configuration of IT systems to replicate real world customer network environments
- Invent creative testing scenarios based on Enterprise scale thinking
- Previous experience within an IT environment working with Microsoft Windows Server Platforms.
- Recent Software Testing Experience
- Installation & configuration of Windows operating systems (Server & Client) and associated software.
- Configuring PC’s to run on networked environments in both Workgroup and Domain scenarios.
- Working knowledge of Networking basics, IP addressing / DNS / DHCP / Active Directory
- Interpret and follow product specifications to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
- Ability to write clear, well structured reports and Technical documents.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and associated test methodologies.
- Comfortable working with Hardware Products including wiring of electronic interfaces
Ability to work independently while being part of a team, proactive, highly motivated, proven ability to meet deadlines.
