Industrial Engineer

Job Description

Perform manpower planning and leveling per the New Program Template.
Interact with corporate planning, production management and union leadership on all matters relating to IE activities.
Lead a cross functional team in the development of operator man assignments, working closely with TLs, Quality, and Engineering to assure objectives are met at a station and plant level.
Build relationships with Engineering and Manufacturing to comprehend the new product requirements and sequence of build.
Develops work assignments based on predetermined time standards.
Conducts studies in operations to maximize workflow and spatial utilization.
Plans and oversees layout of equipment, office, and production facilities.
Perform cycle time and bottleneck analysis.
Develop and improve work methods.
Ability to take on and own leadership roles in executing the launch plan.
Provide supervision, mentoring and direction to less experienced team members.
The candidate needs to be self-motivated; goal driven and possesses good presentation skills.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering.
4+ years Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication, computer and problem solving/analytical skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and interface with all levels of management and labor.
Self-motivated.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree preferred.
Industrial Engineering experience implementing direct labor line balancing in a high-volume manufacturing environment using a standard time methodology.
Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of AMPS, MODAPTS and TeamCenter highly desired.
Proficient in Google Suites and Microsoft Office applications.
