Job Description

The software platform leader owns and manages all aspects of software delivery for a given vehicle program (example: DT BEV). The SPL will create and manage a software delivery plan such that all key vehicle, plant, quality, and engineering requirements are met on time and with the correct feature content according to the plan.

Prior to the X0 Phase

  • Create the software delivery plan and ensure alignment with all key stakeholders.
  • Understand all new features that must be delivered and build a feature rollout plan (FROP).
  • Prioritize features into groups that can be released, validated, and delivered as packages during the development process.
  • Ensure that a proper validation plan supports each software delivery phase.

After the X0 Phase

  • Coordinate the delivery of software according to the feature rollout plan to all consumers.
  • Ensure that validation is complete prior to the delivery of software packages.
  • Track all open issues (defects, GIMS, etc.) and drive them to closure.
  • Create and own the feature readiness glidepath.
  • Ensure that software of the correct maturity is supplied to all plant builds, including SOP.
  • Adjust planning as necessary, recommending feature deferrals when appropriate.
  • Drive Tier 1 suppliers and internal software development teams to maintain timing and delivery according to the plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in automotive product validation or design.
  • Preferred: 5 years of experience in project management, program management, or related fields.
  • Experience with software specifications, development, and testing (Full V-Cycle).
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of EEDP.
  • Working knowledge of corporate engineering, quality, and manufacturing processes and the systems that drive them.
