The project environment involves complex energy infrastructure, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), electrical substations, high-voltage systems, civil works, mechanical systems, automation and SCADA interfaces, construction supervision, quality management, HSE, logistics, and project controls.

Civil Works Supervisor (BESS & Power Infrastructure)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Civil Works Supervisor to oversee and inspect civil construction activities for a major energy infrastructure project in Uzbekistan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising civil works, verifying compliance with approved drawings and specifications, monitoring contractor performance, coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, and supporting construction completion and handover activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect civil construction activities, including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, buildings, roads, drainage systems, and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with approved engineering drawings, technical specifications, project procedures, and construction methodologies.
• Review construction documentation, including method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality records, material approvals, and test reports.
• Coordinate civil works interfaces with electrical, mechanical, and other project disciplines.
• Inspect excavation, backfilling, compaction, reinforcement installation, formwork, concrete placement, curing, and finishing activities.
• Verify that construction materials comply with approved project requirements and technical standards.
• Witness site and laboratory inspections, testing activities, and quality control processes when required.
• Identify construction deviations, defects, and non-conformities and follow corrective actions through satisfactory closure.
• Review survey information, benchmarks, control points, dimensional checks, and as-built information.
• Monitor contractor performance regarding quality, productivity, safety, and schedule compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, site progress, and observations.
• Prepare periodic construction, progress, and quality reports.
• Support mechanical completion, punch-list management, final inspections, and project handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in civil construction, inspection, and site supervision.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial, energy, power generation, transmission, substations, renewable energy, BESS, oil & gas, mining, or major infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience supervising earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete structures, drainage systems, roads, buildings, and underground utilities.
• Strong understanding of international construction standards and QA/QC procedures.
• Previous experience on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects is strongly required.
• Professional proficiency in English.
