Missão
The Design and Release Engineer (DRE) – BIW Upperbody Engineer is responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of Body-in-White (BIW) upperbody structural systems and components.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Concept Feasibility: Lead CAD concepts and solutions for upperbody structural components (e.g., pillars, roof structures, body side inner/outer, rails). Support early feasibility development and template applications aligned with Product Design Office (PDO) themes.
Program Milestones & Release: Manage upperbody components and assemblies through program CAD milestones and system requirement releases. Ensure designs align with manufacturing feasibility, assembly sequence, and body shop joining strategies (e.g., spot welding, MIG welding).
Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with CAE, Safety, NVH, Powertrain, and Interior teams to ensure structural integrity, crash performance, and proper component clearance.
Quality & Performance: Maintain engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs. Drive continuous efficiency through cost reduction, weight optimization, and quality improvement initiatives.
Perfil
Engineering Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
Technical Experience: 5+ years experience in BIW design, sheet metal forming, stamping, and assembly processes.
CAD & Systems Expertise: Proficiency in CATIA V5/UG NX and PLM environments (Teamcenter, ENOVIA). Knowledge of GD&T, DPA standards, and release processes.
