We are currently developing a mobilisation team for a long-term rail infrastructure assignment based in Lusail, Qatar.

Job Description

SEGULA Technologies is seeking experienced Rail Track Technicians / Track Layers to support railway track installation, adjustment and associated infrastructure activities in Lusail.

Reporting to the Track Team Leader, the successful candidates will carry out hands-on trackwork activities in accordance with approved technical instructions, project procedures and HSE requirements.

This is a skilled technical site position and not an engineering or design role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out railway track installation, adjustment and alignment activities.
  • Lay tracks, rails, switches and crossings.
  • Handle, position and install rails and track components.
  • Support track preparation before concrete pouring.
  • Install pipes, reservations and associated trackwork components.
  • Install track equipment, including cable provisions, drainage systems, rail encapsulation, buffer stops and wheel stops.
  • Carry out rail-joint sealing, cutting, fixing and joining activities.
  • Install fishplates and other rail-connection components.
  • Use railway track tools and small powered equipment safely.
  • Operate equipment such as rail drills, rail saws, coach-screw machines and gauge- and level-adjustment tools.
  • Follow instructions issued by the Track Team Leader and Site Supervisor.
  • Attend toolbox talks and apply all communicated safety requirements.
  • Comply with project HSE procedures and site working hours.
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged tools and technical issues immediately.
  • Complete timesheets and toolbox-meeting attendance records accurately.

Perfil

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience as a Rail Track Technician, Track Layer, Track Maintainer, Permanent Way Technician or similar railway tradesperson.
  • Previous experience on railway, metro, tramway or similar track infrastructure projects.
  • Practical experience in railway track laying and track adjustment.
  • Good knowledge of rail handling and installation.
  • Previous use of railway track tools and powered equipment.
  • Experience with fishplate installation, track gauges and level-adjustment tools.
  • Ability to perform track cutting, fixing, jointing and encapsulation activities.
  • Valid certification for the use of small powered tools such as rail saws, rail drills or stressing equipment is preferred.
  • Basic English communication skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of carrying out outdoor manual work.
  • Able to follow technical instructions and work effectively within a trackwork team.
  • Reliable, reactive, safety-conscious and committed.
  • Willing to work according to project site hours and shift requirements.

Additional Information

The assignment will be based in Lusail, Qatar and is expected to run for approximately 15 months, from October 2026 to December 2027, may be extendable, subject to final project confirmation.

Candidates must be willing to relocate to Lusail and remain available for the full assignment.

All selected personnel must successfully complete the applicable railway-network safety training before commencing work.
