Missão

The NVHI Engineer is responsible for supporting vehicle, system, and component noise, vibration, and sound quality performance across vehicle programs. This role contributes to NVHI development, validation, and integration activities through testing, analysis, issue resolution, and cross‑functional collaboration. The position supports both hands‑on technical execution and program‑level NVHI performance delivery from early development through production.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support NVHI development, validation, and integration activities at the vehicle, system, and component levels.
  • Conduct and support NVHI testing, including test preparation, data acquisition, subjective evaluations, and post‑processing.
  • Interpret engineering requests, vehicle requirements, and applicable NVHI standards to ensure proper test execution and documentation.
  • Perform analysis of NVHI data and provide clear technical summaries, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Support NVHI assessments across operating conditions, including powertrain, road, wind, accessory, and interior noise.
  • Support tracking of program NVHI performance relative to targets, including issue tracking, recovery actions, and scorecards, as applicable.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (e.g., Design, CAE, Manufacturing, Suppliers) to identify root causes and implement NVHI solutions.
  • Support benchmarking, standardized testing, and NVHI target‑setting activities.
  • Prepare technical presentations and summaries for program and management reviews.
  • Work closely with technicians, mechanics, and engineering peers during vehicle test and development activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness within the NVHI organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET‑accredited university.
  • Industry engineering experience; NVH testing or development experience preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of vehicle systems and overall vehicle functionality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong planning, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in vehicle, powertrain, or component NVH development or validation.
  • Demonstrated experience using NVH measurement and analysis tools such as:
    • Siemens Simcenter Testlab
    • HEAD Acoustics ArtemiS
    • MATLAB / Simulink
  • Experience with NVH data acquisition, processing, analysis, interpretation, and issue resolution.
  • Exposure to NVH root‑cause analysis methods (e.g., transfer path analysis, modal analysis, angle domain analysis).
  • Experience with active or electronically controlled NVH systems (e.g., ANC) is a plus.
  • Proven ability to solve technical problems and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Experience working with, or supporting, cross‑functional or cross‑organization engineering teams.

Additional Information

  • Role level and scope will be aligned with candidate experience and business need.
  • This position may support multiple vehicle programs concurrently.
