About the Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Layout & Tooling Integration to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design and optimize workstation layouts, specify critical tooling and fixtures, and collaborate closely with launch teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and ergonomic assembly operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Layout Design & Engineering: Develop and maintain 2D and 3D workstation layouts in AutoCAD in alignment with plant constraints and production flow.
Tooling & Equipment Integration: Specify fixtures, jigs, tooling, and assembly aids that optimize quality, ergonomics, and manufacturability while integrating seamlessly into overall station and line layouts.
Line Balancing & Launch Support: Collaborate with Launch Industrial Engineers to balance line workloads, verify station cycle times against takt targets, and support pilot builds and process validation.
Field Verification & Issue Resolution: Perform field checks to validate layout accuracy and resolve interference or design-related issues on the production floor.
Continuous Improvement & Lean: Apply Lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, optimize space utilization, and drive ergonomics and productivity initiatives.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate station documentation, drawing revisions, and design change logs; support updates to PFMEA documentation, work instructions, and tooling layouts.
