We are seeking a Standard Maintenance Procedure (SMP) Specialist to lead the creation, standardization, and continuous updating of our plant’s maintenance procedure library. In this role, you will work directly on the production floor to transform technical maintenance routines into clear, standardized operational manuals aligned with global safety and world-class manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Logistics Network Development: Lead the end-to-end development and optimization of internal logistics networks for New Product Introductions (NPI) and continuous improvement projects. Design and execute robust material delivery strategies, specifically focusing on Tier 1 Module delivery, sequenced commodities, kitting methodologies, as well as bulk and small lot distribution to ensure seamless line-side supply.
Front-End Logistics Engineering: Perform comprehensive long-lead and front-end engineering for all logistics processes. This includes calculating footprint constraints, estimating surface area and dock requirements, and evaluating automation and material handling equipment needs for future production phases.
Financial & Cost Analysis: Partner with the core program team to conduct specialized analytical studies. Build business cases and provide robust cost-justification data to support capital expenditures and operational investments.
Cross-Functional Presentation & Alignment: Act as the primary logistics liaison by presenting station readiness plans directly to the steering committee and external customers. Defend and detail logistics and station designs to the core launch team, ensuring alignment across product, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, and operational divisions.
Process Optimization & Bottleneck Resolution: Lead advanced simulation exercises and bottleneck analyses to proactively identify process constraints and unlock continuous improvement opportunities. Provide strategic and technical direction to Station Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure the successful integration of process and design enhancements.
Lean Manufacturing Leadership: Champion operational excellence by leading and actively participating in continuous improvement (Kaizen) workshops. Drive the adoption of lean manufacturing initiatives across the logistics and production floors to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
Launch Execution & Metric Tracking: Oversee critical pre-production phases by actively supporting pilot builds, tool tryouts, and comprehensive process validation activities. Rigorously track, report, and optimize key launch metrics, driving accountability for cycle time adherence, first-time quality (FTQ), downtime reduction, and overall throughput performance.
