Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, validate, and release propulsion system components.
Lead component testing and validation activities (DVP&R).
Analyze and resolve design, quality, and durability issues.
Manage engineering changes and change notices.
Review supplier-driven component modifications and approvals.
Coordinate functional testing prior to production implementation.
Support assembly plants with engineering specifications and design changes.
Collaborate with suppliers on component development and launch activities.
Create and maintain DFMEA documentation.
Coordinate DFMEA and PFMEA reviews with suppliers.
Drive cost reduction and component optimization initiatives.
Benchmark components for performance, weight, and cost efficiency.
Support pilot builds, pre-series events, and production launches.
Verify manufacturing processes before mass production release.
Design and modify components using NX (2D & 3D CAD).
Required Design Experience:
Candidates should have experience designing and developing one or more of the following:
Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) components.
Electric Motor components and accessories.
Power Electronics components and accessories.
Support brackets for electronic modules.
Engine-mounted and surrounding powertrain components.
Structural and mounting components related to propulsion systems.
This position requires frequent travel to the USA; candidates must hold Canadian citizenship or have the ability to work in the USA.
Profil
* Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in Product Engineering or Product Development.
Solid understanding of internal combustion engine components, operation, dynamics, and physics.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of automotive systems, vehicle assembly, manufacturing processes, and component validation.
Understanding of internal combustion engines, thermodynamics, statistics, testing, validation, and failure analysis.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in automotive or related industries.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and data analysis tools such as Minitab.
Experience with NX and/or CATIA CAD software.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Analytical, proactive, and problem-solving mindset.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
