Join a leading aerospace manufacturing team supporting advanced aircraft structural assembly programs in Wichita, KS. We are seeking experienced Assembly Mechanics / Aircraft Structures Mechanics with strong sheet metal, structural assembly, and aerospace manufacturing experience to support precision aircraft production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position involves assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, inspecting, and testing structural and system components using engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements. Candidates must be comfortable working in a production environment with tight tolerances, aerospace standards, and high-quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete aircraft structural and system components using engineering drawings, work instructions, process specifications, and quality requirements
- Perform fit, form, and function checks on assemblies and components
- Conduct functional testing and troubleshoot assembly-related issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, charts, sketches, process documents, electronic work instructions, and technical specifications
- Utilize shop mathematics, precision measuring tools, and testing instruments to complete assignments accurately
- Use assembly tooling and fastening equipment to build sub-assemblies and end items
- Verify completed work meets engineering and process specifications and identify discrepancies per applicable procedures
- Ensure equipment and tooling certifications are maintained in accordance with procedures
- Perform routine minor machine maintenance and preventative maintenance duties as required
- Move products and assemblies throughout the manufacturing work area using shop-assigned equipment
- Support production flow and assist in training employees across multiple classification levels
- Assist in training other assembly personnel on assembly, installation, and inspection techniques
- Cross-train in inspection functions and become SIA qualified
Profil
- Minimum 11+ years of aircraft structures, sheet metal, or aerospace assembly experience required
- Strong background in aircraft structural assembly, installation, and inspection
- Experience working in aerospace manufacturing or aircraft production environments required
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process specifications
- Experience using precision measuring tools and aerospace assembly equipment
- Must be able to pass a hands-on plate test to support the project
- Must be flexible to work any assigned shift, overtime, and weekends based on business needs
- Need immediate joiners only.
