Position Overview
We are seeking a Systems & Requirements Engineer to define, author, maintain, and govern customer-level feature requirements for next-generation vehicle programs. In this role, you will act as the technical bridge between product planning, core engineering, systems engineering, HMI, software, hardware, and validation teams. You will translate customer expectations, voice-of-customer clinics, and competitive benchmarks into clear, testable, and traceable technical specifications for digital cockpit and connected vehicle features.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Ownership & Lifecycle Management: Own the creation, authoring, baselining, review, approval, and tracking of technical requirements throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
Feature Decomposition: Translate user needs and competitive benchmarks into platform-level functional and non-functional engineering requirements and acceptance criteria.
Cross-Functional Interface Alignment: Facilitate requirement reviews across software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to resolve technical gaps, interface dependencies, and architectural constraints.
Traceability & Change Control: Maintain end-to-end bidirectional traceability from high-level customer intent to subsystem, software, hardware, and validation tests. Evaluate requirement changes for technical, cost, timing, and compliance impacts.
Safety & Regulatory Integration: Collaborate with validation teams to establish verification methods and ensure ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements are incorporated.

Key Competencies
Technical Requirements Engineering: Expertise in writing precise, testable, unambiguous specifications using INCOSE-aligned practices.
Systems Architecture & Topologies: Practical understanding of functional decomposition, network topology diagrams, interface definitions, and software/hardware interactions.
ALM & Requirements Tools: Proficiency using IBM DOORS or IBM DOORS Next Gen for baselining, tracing, and change management.
Functional Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Working knowledge of ISO 26262 standards, cybersecurity practices, and automotive regulatory frameworks.
Stakeholder Facilitation: Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate deliverables across multidisciplinary teams and present technical content to non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Systems Engineering (or ABET-accredited equivalent). Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: 1–5 years of automotive product development experience focused on requirements definition, functional analysis, or lifecycle management.
