Position Overview
We are seeking a Systems & Requirements Engineer to define, author, maintain, and govern customer-level feature requirements for current and future vehicle programs. In this role, you will act as the bridge between product planning, core engineering, software, hardware, HMI, and physical validation teams. You will translate customer expectations, field insights, and competitive benchmarks into testable, traceable engineering requirements across the full vehicle lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Ownership & Governance: Lead the authoring, baselining, tracking, and lifecycle management of vehicle feature requirements. Ensure specifications are clear, unambiguous, feasible, and testable.
System Decomposition: Deconstruct high-level customer needs, voice-of-customer clinics, and field insights into platform-level functional and non-functional engineering requirements.
Cross-Functional Interface Management: Host requirement reviews with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve technical gaps, system conflicts, interface dependencies, and architectural constraints.
Bidirectional Traceability & Change Control: Maintain full traceability from customer needs down to software, hardware, and physical validation tests. Assess change requests for technical, cost, timing, and compliance impacts.
Validation & Compliance Integration: Partner with test teams to set acceptance criteria and verification methods. Ensure functional safety (ISO 26262), cybersecurity, and global automotive regulations are built into the specification.

Key Competencies
Technical Requirements Engineering: Direct experience in writing, analyzing, and managing technical specifications using INCOSE-aligned engineering methods.
Systems Architecture & Decomposition: Strong foundation in automotive functional decomposition, network topology interpretation, and software/hardware/physical component interaction.
Lifecycle Management Tools (ALM): Experience managing baselines, tracing dependencies, and reporting metrics using IBM DOORS, IBM DOORS Next Gen, or similar ALM platforms.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Working knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and international automotive regulatory standards.
Stakeholder Alignment: Ability to bridge communication between technical domain experts (software, hardware) and non-technical business teams (product planning, clinical insights).
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Systems Engineering, or equivalent ABET-accredited degree. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: 1–5+ years of automotive product development experience with direct responsibility for requirements engineering, functional analysis, or architecture alignment.
Domain Knowledge: Understanding of key automotive domains (e.g., ADAS, Infotainment, Connectivity, Body, Propulsion, or Chassis systems).
