The automotive industry is rapidly transforming through autonomous driving, connectivity, and electrification. In this role, you will help design, develop, and validate software for advanced vehicle electrical and electronic systems, including autonomous features, control systems, infotainment, cloud-connected services, and prototype vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
• Validate feature software for new automotive ECUs at both vehicle and ECU level.
• Design and develop software test frameworks to support verification and validation activities.
• Create, implement, and execute manual and automated test cases from system and software requirements.
• Conduct testing across multiple environments, including HIL rigs and vehicles.
• Support and enhance test automation frameworks and identify opportunities for increased automation.
Technical Expertise
• Apply knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle, V-Model, Agile, ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO 29119.
• Develop and oversee test plans, test cases, automation strategies, and test reports.
• Perform root cause analysis, debugging, defect management, and requirements-based testing.
• Analyse customer requirements and translate them into effective test cases.
• Work in a Systems Engineering environment and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet.
• Utilize scripting skills to automate testing where appropriate.
Problem Solving
• Investigate complex software issues using structured, theory-based analysis.
• Identify potential root causes, validate hypotheses through testing, and resolve defects efficiently.
Planning & Agile Delivery
• Create test plans, tools, and use cases for vehicle platform testing.
• Participate in product requirement and design reviews.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test infrastructure and frameworks.
• Operate within an Agile Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Key Interactions
• Collaborate across Product Engineering teams, Functional Safety teams, and validation groups.
• Support development of validation processes and tools for bench and vehicle testing.
• Generate safety-related test requirements from functional requirements.
• Document test procedures, maintain traceability of results, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.

- Experience in the Software Development Lifecycle, V-Model, AGILE, ASPICE
- Experience in a range of validation and automated testing frameworks.
- Responsible for the creation and oversight of test plans, test cases, test automation, identify automation opportunities and compile, review and approve test reports.
- Excellent in root cause analysis, debugging system failures, problem solving.
- Scripting skills to automate test cases will be beneficial.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO26262 & ISO29119.
- Proficient in the analysis and decomposition of customer requirements into test cases.
- Experienced in operating in a System Engineering environment.
- Expert in Defect Management and requirements-based testing.
- Experienced in Vehicle Diagnostics desirable.
- Expert in ensuring the test approaches followed are effectively validating the customer requirements in line with industry standards.
