We are seeking a motivated Design Release Engineer (DRE) – Wiring to support the design, development, and release of wiring harness systems for NAFTA vehicle applications.
In this role, you will support the design and release of specific wiring assemblies while working closely with experienced engineers to ensure they meet all functional, quality, and packaging requirements. You will collaborate cross-functionally with packaging teams, manufacturing, and external suppliers to help move designs from concept to production while learning and applying industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Release: Support the design, release, and engineering sign-off of vehicle wiring harnesses and related electrical components under the guidance of senior engineers.
Supplier Management: Collaborate with external supplier engineering resources to support the design, testing, and timely delivery of components that meet technical specifications.
Packaging Integration: Work closely with vehicle packaging teams to assist in resolving wiring routing, clipping, and thermal/abrasion protection challenges within the vehicle environment.
Data Integrity: Create, maintain, and update engineering data structures, ensuring accuracy within EBOM, Teamcenter, and NX CAD software.
Quality & Consistency: Follow established wiring design standards and engineering best practices to support robust electrical system performance and successful vehicle launches.

This position requires eligibility for a TN visa (i.e., Canadian citizenship) because it is located in Auburn Hills, MI.
Basic Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline (e.g., Materials, Chemical, Civil, Aerospace, Computer) from an ABET-accredited university.
Experience:
0–3 years of experience in automotive, electrical, or product engineering, including internships or co-op experience.
Exposure to electrical systems, wiring harnesses, or vehicle development is considered an asset.
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of automotive electrical systems and engineering fundamentals.
Familiarity with vehicle packaging and physical routing concepts is an asset.
Exposure to EBOM, Teamcenter, NX, or other CAD/PLM tools is preferred.
Willingness to learn engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
