Compito

Join a leading aerospace manufacturing and retrofit team supporting advanced rotorcraft programs in Columbus, Mississippi. We are seeking an experienced Senior Aircraft Technician – Sheet Metal to support helicopter retrofit, modification, and structural assembly operations in a production and maintenance environment.

This role is responsible for installing, fitting, assembling, and repairing aircraft sheet metal parts and structural assemblies while ensuring all work is completed in compliance with aerospace quality and safety standards. The position supports helicopter structures including tail booms, stabilizers, skins, frames, and related sub-assemblies.

This is a contract position with potential for extension based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install aircraft sheet metal parts and assemblies while ensuring structural integrity and proper system operation
  • Perform drilling, fitting, fastening, and riveting of helicopter structural components and sub-assemblies
  • Fit and assemble aircraft skins, frames, stabilizers, tail booms, and related structures
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, diagrams, and work instructions
  • Assist in developing patterns and templates to support manufacturing accuracy and repeatability
  • Perform aircraft structural modifications and repairs using standard aerospace shop practices
  • Ensure installations meet quality, safety, and engineering requirements
  • Work in a production floor and aircraft assembly environment while following all safety procedures
  • Utilize production tools and equipment, including hydraulic lifts and standard sheet metal tools
  • Support continuous improvement, productivity, and quality initiatives within the retrofit and assembly team

Profilo

Requirements:
  • Minimum of six (6) years of aircraft sheet metal experience required
  • Strong experience with aircraft structural assembly, drilling, fitting, and riveting
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, and technical diagrams
  • Experience performing aircraft structural repair and modification work
  • Familiarity with standard aerospace manufacturing and sheet metal shop practices
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined under U.S. export control regulations.
  • Current A&P License is a plus
  • Rotorcraft / helicopter experience strongly preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Primarily onsite role (approximately 95%)
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs / 14 kgs
  • Ability to work on production floors and around aircraft structures and equipment
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including:
    • Safety shoes
    • Safety glasses
    • Hearing protection
    • Respirators / masks
    • Protective gloves
