Mission
Position Overview
The KBE Development Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Knowledge-Based Engineering (KBE) tools that automate repetitive Body engineering and CAD tasks across Stellantis programs. In this role, you will embed core engineering standards and design rules directly into digital workflows—improving design speed, accuracy, and efficiency across Body-in-White (BIW), closures, and exterior components.
Key Responsibilities
1. CAD Automation & Tool Development
Translate complex engineering requirements, design rules, and manufacturing standards into reusable KBE applications and parametric CAD templates.
Build automated routines to streamline component creation, geometry updates, automated drawing generation, and design validation.
Integrate packaging constraints, GD&T, dimensional management, and manufacturability requirements into digital workflows.
2. Process Optimization & Engineering Collaboration
Partner closely with BIW, Closures, and Exterior engineering teams to identify high-impact opportunities for design automation.
Validate KBE applications against representative vehicle program use cases, resolving geometry, code, and system integration issues.
Drive continuous improvement by updating legacy tools, incorporating user feedback, and refining automation algorithms.
3. Deployment, Documentation & User Support
Maintain robust version control, application documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides for all KBE software.
Lead user onboarding, technical training sessions, live demos, and day-to-day troubleshooting for engineering teams.
