Mission

We are seeking a proactive and driven Design and Release Engineer (DRE) - Fuel Systems to lead the design, development, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and production release of critical fuel and urea system components.

In this role, you will drive quality improvements, weight reduction, and cost optimization initiatives while collaborating closely with vehicle program teams, prototype labs, CAE engineers, manufacturing plants, and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Production Release: Manage the end-to-end design, development, APQP, and production release cycle for fuel and urea system components.

  • Continuous Improvement: Initiate and execute quality enhancements, value optimization, weight reduction, and efficiency improvement projects.

  • Quality & Validation Management: Develop, maintain, and execute DFMEA (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) and DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report).

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with vehicle program teams, testing & prototype labs, CAE engineers, supplier operations, and manufacturing plants.

  • Supplier Interface: Coordinate technical specifications and design requirements directly with automotive suppliers.

  • Technical Reporting: Communicate technical product status, risk assessments, and project updates clearly to management.

Profil

Education & Language

  • Degree: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering required. (BSME from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent is preferred).

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (speaking, listening, and writing).

Experience

  • 2 to 4 years of automotive engineering design/development experience in Fuel Systems and/or UREA (SCR).

    • Relevant internships within Fuel Systems/UREA will be considered as part of the total experience.

  • Experience with injection molded and/or blow molded Fuel/Urea tank design.

  • Hands-on experience developing DFMEA and DVP&R.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of fuel tank virtual simulations (Highly Recommended).

  • Design experience with Fuel Delivery Modules (Recommended).

  • General understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), fasteners, and torque specifications.

  • General understanding of PLM / CAD tools (Siemens NX, Teamcenter).

  • Strong problem-solving methodology and technical analytical skills.

  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Belt certification is preferred.

Soft Skills

  • Self-starter with demonstrated leadership, strong communication, and organizational skills.
