CAE Crash Analyst – Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CAE Crash Analyst with hands-on experience in ANSA, LS-DYNA, and PAM-CRASH to perform crashworthiness simulations, analyze vehicle safety performance, and support product development through advanced CAE methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, prepare, and quality-check finite element (FE) models using ANSA for vehicle and subsystem crash analysis.
2. Perform crashworthiness simulations using LS-DYNA and PAM-CRASH for frontal, side, rear, roof crush, and pedestrian impact load cases.
3. Define and validate simulation setups, including materials, contacts, connections, boundary conditions, and load cases.
4. Analyze simulation results, including deformation, intrusion, stress, strain, acceleration, force, and energy absorption, to assess structural performance.
5. Correlate CAE simulation results with physical crash test data and implement model updates to improve prediction accuracy.
6. Optimize vehicle structures to achieve crash performance targets while balancing weight, cost, and manufacturability.
7. Investigate and resolve model quality and solver-related issues to improve simulation stability, convergence, and computational efficiency.
8. Prepare detailed technical reports, summarize analysis findings, and present recommendations to cross-functional engineering teams.
9. Collaborate with BIW, design, safety, and product development teams to support design improvements and meet crashworthiness objectives.
10. Ensure compliance with OEM standards, regulatory safety requirements, and CAE best practices throughout the crash analysis and vehicle development process.
