Job Description
- Lead the design and development activities of exterior plastic vehicle components (bumper systems, exterior trim parts, etc.) in line with project timelines.
- Develop 3D part and assembly designs in CATIA and perform technical drawing and modeling activities.
- Manage 2D and 3D technical documentation processes, ensuring that design data is maintained accurately, completely, and up to date within relevant systems.
- Verify designs by analyzing dimensional compliance, assembly interfaces, and tolerance requirements.
- Develop design solutions in accordance with applicable technical standards, design guidelines, and customer requirements.
- Perform tolerance analyses, dimensional chain studies, and technical evaluations to support product performance and quality objectives.
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams to provide technical support during prototype, validation, and serial production phases.
- Manage design changes, monitor revision processes, and ensure technical documentation remains current.
- Contribute to the analysis of technical issues arising during the product development process and support the development of effective engineering solutions.
Profil
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in automotive design and product development.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Strong knowledge of 3D modeling, technical drawing creation, and design documentation.
- Experience in the design and development of plastic components, trim systems, bumpers, or similar automotive parts.
- Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), tolerance analysis, and technical drawing standards.
- Knowledge of product development processes, engineering change management, and revision control.
- Ability to apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), assembly feasibility, and cost-oriented design principles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and results-oriented working skills.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems is preferred.
