Mission
The Technical Representative (ASME) will be responsible for delivering conformity assessment and inspection-related services to assigned clients in accordance with applicable technical procedures, codes, standards, and internal process instructions.
The role requires a strong combination of technical inspection expertise, quality systems knowledge, and client-facing capability. The selected candidate will also support business development activities by interacting with clients, identifying opportunities, and contributing to proposals and contract discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and/or verify conformity assessment activities in line with applicable internal processes and technical procedures
- Ensure calibration status of equipment used complies with required procedures and accreditation expectations
- Stay up to date with international codes and standards relevant to pressure equipment assessments
- Verify that test facility operators are properly trained, experienced, and capable of accurately recording test results
- Monitor implementation of the client’s approved Quality Control System Manual and document findings in line with established requirements
- Report compliance issues or technical concerns verbally and in writing to the assigned supervisor
- Attend client facilities as scheduled and perform assessments in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain conformity assessment records in compliance with applicable inspector and supervisor duties
- Complete all required training assignments as directed by the authorized manager
- Perform duties in accordance with ASME and NB Manual requirements related to the Authorized Inspection Agency program
- Support client engagement, identify new business opportunities, and assist with new contracts and proposals
Profil
Qualifications
- Engineering degree, diploma, or recognized equivalent
- Preferred disciplines include Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in conformity assessment of pressure equipment and engineered products
- Minimum 5 years of experience in QA/QC audits related to pressure equipment manufacturing
Preferred Certifications
- CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent
- ASME Authorized Inspector
- SNT-TC-1A or PCN
- QMS Lead Auditor training (ISO 9001) preferred
- IRCA-certified course or equivalent recognized by a national accreditation body is preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality system requirements
- Familiarity with internal quality procedures and management systems related to health, safety, quality, and environment
- Knowledge of material testing techniques, laboratory procedures, and competence requirements for testing and calibration laboratories
- Certification in applicable process instructions as authorized by the designated manager
- Comprehensive understanding of pressure equipment codes and standards, including:
- ASME Code Sections I to XIII
- NBIC
- PED
- Understanding of pressure equipment in-process and final inspection techniques, tools, and instruments
- Familiarity with audit principles, procedures, techniques, and ISO 19011 guidelines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good computer skills for electronic communication and data transfer
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach and willingness to take on additional responsibilities
Physical / Operational Requirements
- Must be fit for duty and able to comply with client site access and safety requirements
- Must be able to walk long distances, climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding as needed
- Must not have claustrophobia or acrophobia
- Must be able to comply with drug and alcohol screening requirements where applicable
- Facial hair must not interfere with PPE or respirator sealing requirements where relevant
