Some imagine the future. At SEGULA, we build it.
Mission
Segula Technologies is looking for one Value Optimization Engineer to join our team and support an important customer. The Junior Value Optimization (VO) Engineer identifies, evaluates, and implements cost optimization opportunities for assigned mechatronic components and system areas across one or more projects. The primary objective is achieving cost targets while strictly maintaining quality, performance, reliability, dependability, and delivery deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis & Opportunity Identification: Build detailed cost breakdowns (BOM, materials, process, E/E) and identify savings through teardowns, competitor benchmarking, and should-cost analyses.
Technical & Economic Assessment: Evaluate saving potential, investment, and payback for new ideas, presenting them for arbitration while strictly preserving QCTP targets, performance, and compliance.
Cross-Functional & Supplier Alignment: Coordinate technical feasibility and manufacturability with internal teams (Design, E/E, Manufacturing, Quality) and lead technical reviews with suppliers.
Validation & Change Implementation: Manage DFMEA updates, validation plans (DV/PV), sample deliveries, change request approvals (SSTL), and monitor serial production rollout.
Reporting & Knowledge Sharing: Track VO portfolio metrics (secured savings, hit rate, risks) for project leaders (SSTL/SSTM) and formalize best practices for reuse in future projects.
Profile
- Master’s degree or Engineering Diploma in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, or Automation Engineering.
- 0–2 years of experience. Relevant internships or thesis work in automotive engineering, cost engineering, or industrialization are strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of automotive engineering, mechatronic systems, electronics, software development, and dependability fundamentals.
- Technical drawing and GD&T literacy.
- Knowledge of key manufacturing processes (plastic injection molding, sheet metal stamping, windings, automated assembly, PCB/SMT).
- Samiliarity with cost breakdown analysis, should-cost models, teardowns, and benchmarking techniques.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel.
- Knowledge of CATIA V5 or 3DEXPERIENCE is an asset.
- Familiarity with project management and release tools (e.g., PLM, Polarion, eBOM, CODEP, S2irius) is a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset, high rigor with data, and strong communication skills for working effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Professional English fluency (ability to lead and facilitate technical meetings in an international environment).
