Mission
Position Overview: We are seeking a Technical Expert in EWIS Integration to serve as the highest technical authority for Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems across aircraft programs. In this enterprise-level role, you will shape overarching EWIS architecture strategies, solve the most complex multi-system physical integration challenges, and establish organization-wide standards and governance. Acting as a strategic advisor to executive engineering leadership, you will drive technical excellence, ensure full certification compliance, and advance internal capabilities, processes, and digital tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Architecture & EWIS Integration:
Establish technical strategy and standard practices for 3D EWIS harness routing, spatial architecture, structural bracketry, and component selection.
Define design policies governing separation/segregation, bend radii, support spacing, environmental protection, and maintenance access.
Review and authorize key architectural proposals and critical detail installation packages across major aircraft programs.
Enterprise Interface Coordination & Alignment:
Align 3D physical routing strategy with 2D schematics, wiring diagrams, zonal constraints, and multidisciplinary requirements.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact with harness suppliers, manufacturing plants, certification authorities, and executive technical stakeholders.
Resolve high-risk routing conflicts, interface discrepancies, and producibility issues that impact multiple programs or production lines.
Design Maturity, Compliance & Problem Resolution:
Oversee airworthiness compliance strategies for EWIS designs against global regulatory standards (FAA/EASA).
Direct complex root-cause investigations (RCCA) for critical field, flight test, or production anomalies, delivering binding technical dispositions.
Evaluate major engineering changes for broad technical, financial, weight, schedule, and risk impacts across the enterprise product line.
Technical Authority & Capability Development:
Function as the ultimate discipline authority for complex design trade-offs and high-impact engineering decisions.
Establish technical governance, standard operating procedures, design manuals, and best practices for the department.
Drive talent development by mentoring senior engineering staff, conducting knowledge transfer initiatives, and championing advanced digital engineering tools.
Profile
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related engineering field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
Experience: 15+ years of progressive aerospace engineering experience with a recognized track record of technical leadership in 3D EWIS design, routing, and physical integration.
Technical Knowledge:
Mastery of aircraft EWIS physical integration, harness manufacturing, installation inspection, and EWIS regulatory certification frameworks.
Expert ability to bridge complex 2D electrical schematics with 3D spatial routing and zonal environmental rules.
Deep expertise in configuration management, weight optimization, and aerospace drawing standards.
Tools & Systems:
Advanced proficiency with enterprise CAD/PLM platforms, specifically CATIA V5 (Electrical Workbenches) and ENOVIA; familiarity with Siemens NX and Teamcenter is an asset.
Extensive experience with enterprise PLM, engineering change control, and configuration governance.
Leadership & Strategic Capabilities:
Executive-level written and verbal technical communication and presentation skills.
Proven ability to guide strategy, influence cross-functional executives and partners without direct line authority, and resolve top-tier technical risks.
Demonstrated commitment to developing engineering talent and driving organizational discipline growth.
Languages: Fluency in English is required; French language proficiency is an asset.
