  • SYSTEMS INTEGRATION ENGINEER

Mission

Position Overview: We are seeking a Systems Installation Integration Engineer to lead key design work packages and resolve complex physical integration challenges for aircraft development programs. In this role, you will focus on the physical routing, packaging, and interface definition of mechanical aircraft systems—including equipment, ducting, piping, tubing, hoses, brackets, and structural supports (excluding electrical wiring). You will serve as a technical bridge across multidisciplinary engineering teams, balancing technical, operational, and financial requirements to deliver certified, production-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation Design & Integration:

    • Develop and review 3D CAD layouts, equipment arrangements, routing, support brackets, and detail assembly drawings for assigned mechanical systems.

    • Establish physical interface requirements, maintenance access envelopes, attachment provisions, and clearance zones for onboard hardware.

    • Balance system functionality with key constraints such as zonal safety, maintainability, manufacturability, weight, and production cost.

  • Multidisciplinary Coordination:

    • Collaborate closely across system functional teams, structures, stress, interiors, thermal, aerodynamics, safety, and manufacturing.

    • Manage spatial integration within assigned aircraft zones to proactively resolve physical clashes, routing constraints, and assembly sequence challenges.

    • Interface directly with external suppliers, risk-sharing partners, and shop-floor operations teams to align technical specifications.

  • Design Maturity & Product Support:

    • Participate in formal design reviews, verification/validation tests, qualification tasks, and certification compliance activities.

    • Investigate and deliver timely technical solutions for issues emerging in manufacturing, supplier production, flight tests, or field service.

    • Execute engineering change orders, perform impact assessments, and maintain strict configuration management within the PLM system.

  • Work Package & Technical Leadership:

    • Lead specific engineering deliverables, ensuring project milestones, technical quality, and interface alignments are met.

    • Formulate and substantiate technical recommendations for complex integration issues to present to engineering leadership.

    • Perform peer reviews of design drawings, share lessons learned, and assist in coaching junior engineers.

Profile

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent relevant engineering technology degree/experience).

  • Experience: Typically 5+ years of hands-on aerospace engineering experience specializing in physical systems integration and mechanical design.

  • Technical Knowledge:

    • Proven knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems routing, GD&T, clearance management, and zone integration constraints.

    • Solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing techniques, engineering drawing standards, configuration management, and certification basics.

  • Tools & Systems:

    • Proficiency with CAD/PLM platforms (e.g., CATIA V5, ENOVIA, NX, or Teamcenter) and standard office productivity suites.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Clear, structured written and verbal technical communication skills.

    • Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.

    • Demonstrated capability to manage priorities, guide technical outcomes, and drive projects to completion.

  • Languages: Fluency in English is required; French language skills are considered an asset.
