Mission
Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Systems Installation Integration Engineer to provide high-level technical leadership for complex aircraft development and sustaining initiatives. In this role, you will drive the physical integration of mechanical aircraft systems—including equipment, ducting, piping, tubing, hoses, brackets, and structural supports (excluding electrical wiring). You will balance functional requirements, safety, maintainability, weight, and cost to deliver robust engineering solutions from concept through certification.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation Design & Integration:
Develop and review 3D installation layouts, equipment arrangements, routing, supports, assemblies, and detail drawings for mechanical aircraft systems.
Define physical interfaces, clearance envelope requirements, maintenance access, and attachment provisions for non-electrical systems hardware.
Ensure all designs balance functional requirements against safety, maintainability, manufacturability, weight, cost, and zonal constraints.
Multidisciplinary Coordination:
Collaborate across engineering disciplines—including functional systems, structures, stress, interiors, thermal, aerodynamics, safety, and manufacturing.
Lead spatial integration efforts to resolve physical clashes, access limitations, installation sequencing, and interface discrepancies across zones.
Align technical definitions with suppliers, risk-sharing partners, and internal operations.
Design Maturity, Compliance & Product Lifecycle:
Support formal design reviews, verification/validation tasks, qualification, and certification activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising in production, flight test, or field service.
Manage engineering changes, conduct impact assessments, and maintain rigorous product configuration within PLM environments.
Leadership & Mentorship:
Lead multi-system or multi-zone design initiatives and establish coherent technical approaches.
Review and approve technical packages within delegated authority and direct root-cause investigations for complex installation challenges.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, drive digital best practices, and improve departmental engineering standards.
Profile
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience: Typically 10–15+ years of relevant aerospace engineering experience with a strong focus on physical system installation and mechanical routing.
Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems integration, clearance requirements, zone constraints, and GD&T.
Solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, certification fundamentals, and configuration management.
Software & Tools:
Proficiency in CAD/PLM suites (e.g., CATIA V5, ENOVIA, NX, or Teamcenter) and MS Office applications.
Key Competencies:
Strong cross-functional collaboration and clear written/verbal technical communication skills.
Proven ability to guide technical decisions, mentor team members, and resolve complex trade-offs without direct managerial authority.
Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages (e.g., French) is a plus depending on site location.
