Job Title: Material Engineer – Railway Civil & MEP Works

Job Overview
We are seeking experienced Material Engineers to support a major railway infrastructure project in the UAE, covering Civil and MEP works.
The successful candidates will be responsible for managing material submittals, reviewing technical documentation, coordinating material approvals, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and construction schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate material submittals and approval processes for railway Civil and MEP works.
Review material technical specifications, datasheets, compliance statements, certificates, and manufacturers' documentation.
Ensure proposed materials comply with approved project specifications, applicable international standards, and quality requirements.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers to secure timely material approvals.
Review material testing requirements, inspection reports, and supporting technical documentation.
Identify and resolve material-related technical discrepancies and non-compliance issues.
Monitor material approval status and maintain accurate material submittal registers.
Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure approved materials are available according to project schedules.
Support technical evaluations of proposed materials and alternative material submissions.
Ensure material approval delays are identified and escalated to minimize their impact on construction activities.
Profile
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, preferably 7–10 years, in major construction and infrastructure projects.
Proven experience in railway projects involving Civil and/or MEP works.
Strong experience in material engineering, material submittals, technical reviews, and material approval procedures.
Experience managing material approval processes on large-scale projects.
Good knowledge of construction materials, technical specifications, international standards, and testing requirements.
Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers.
Strong understanding of the relationship between material approvals, procurement activities, construction progress, and project schedules.
Excellent technical coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in railway or high-speed rail infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with multidisciplinary material approval processes covering Civil and MEP packages.
Experience working on major infrastructure projects in the UAE or GCC.
