Mission

We are looking for a Senior Automotive Diagnostic Engineer to join an exciting vehicle development project within the automotive industry.

What you will be doing

You will be part of a team developing the off-board diagnostic content used by workshop technicians when diagnosing and repairing the vehicle.

Your work will include things like:

  • Developing diagnostic content for DTCs, diagnostic functions, parameters and test sequences.
  • Understanding diagnostic information and requirements coming from R&D and turning them into practical solutions.
  • Working with fault tracing and fault isolation.
  • Making sure the diagnostic content is clear and useful for a technician working on the vehicle.
  • Testing and reviewing the content together with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Working closely with R&D and other teams when information is unclear or needs to be investigated further.
  • Contributing with your experience and helping establish good ways of working within the team.

As a senior person in the team, you will also have the opportunity to share your knowledge, support other engineers and help shape the team as it grows.

Profile

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who knows automotive diagnostics well and has a good understanding of both the engineering and workshop side of diagnostics.

Requirements

- Several years of experience within automotive diagnostics.

- Experience developing off-board diagnostic content or similar diagnostic solutions.

- Good knowledge of DTCs, fault tracing and diagnostic functions.

- Experience with diagnostic tools and workshop diagnostics.

- Good understanding of UDS / ISO 14229 and automotive communication.

- Experience working with ECU diagnostics and understanding how on-board diagnostics are developed.

- Experience from vehicle development projects, preferably taking a vehicle from development towards launch.

- An understanding of how a workshop technician actually works when troubleshooting a vehicle.

- Fluent in English 

Meritorious

- Experience with Codiac, VIDA or similar diagnostic tools is a big plus.

- Fluent in Swedish

You are comfortable working independently, but you also enjoy working together with others and sharing your experience. You don't need every detail handed to you, you can take technical information from different sources, ask the right questions and figure out what needs to be done.

You will have a central role in developing the diagnostic solution and will be one of the key people helping build the diagnostic team around the project.
